
I am currently a Senior Lecturer in the School of Electronic Engineering at DCU.
Research Interests:
Switching Theory, Routing Protocols, Quality of Service in IP and MPLS networks, Wireless Sensor Network protocols.
I run the Switching and Systems Laboratory at DCU, which is affiliated to the Network Innovations Centre, one of RINCE's constituent centres.

Big Projects:
I co-authored the successful proposal for the CANCAN project, which was funded under the EU ACTS programme in 1994-96. I formulated the RINCE proposal (jointly with Prof Charles McCorkell), which was a key element of DCU's successful application for funds under the Irish Government's Programme for Research in Third Level Institutions (Cycle One).

Admin Stuff
I am a former Chairperson of the Programme Board for the B.Eng. degree in Telecommunications Engineering which has since evolved into the B.Eng. in Information and Communications Engineering (check the School of Electronic Engineering web pages for information about this and related degree programmes). I also chaired the Quality Review Co-ordinating Committe for the School of Electronic Engineering and RINCE in 2004/5. I was the Chairperson for the GD/MEng programmes offered by the School (2004-2006).
