Originally from West Cork I came to Dublin to study engineering in DCU. I obtained a first class honors B.Eng. in Digital Media Engineering.
At present I am working towards a M.Eng in the area of wireless networking in association with the Performance Engineering Laboratory (PEL) and under
the supervision of Dr Gabriel-Miro Muntean. The PEL research group has facilities in the School of Electronic Engineering at Dublin City University and
the Department of Computer Science in University College Dublin. I am based in DCU.
My research is funded by a competitive scholarship awarded by the Irish Research Council for Science Engineering and Technology (IRCSET).
I am currently working on the TraffCon project. TraffCon is an intelligent traffic control
system for Wireless Vehicular Networks (WVN).
Traffic Congestion is a very serious problem which is becoming ever worse as the growth in the
number of cars on the road significantly outpaces the provision of road capacity. TraffCon is a
novel Traffic Management System (TMS) for WVN that combats this problem by seeking to optimize the
usage of the existing road capacity.
