Welcome to the Home Page for James Noonan.
This page remains under-construction. At the moment, it gives access to my CV and my publications. Look in Professional History for my CV.

I have recently completed a Ph.D. in Computer Science in University College Dublin. This was completed with the PEL group (see links on the left). Since March '06, I have been working with the PEL group in a Post-Doc role. There are two main aspects to this.

  • Commercialisation of Research Efforts

    Commercialisation involves developing and selling ideas, getting patents for the group's research and building relationships with Companies. Currently, the group has a number of links with Wireless Data-Service Providers.

  • On-going Research

    Since completing the Ph.D, I have tried to maintain an active research role. Mostly this involves providing feedback to current Ph.D and master students and reviewing research papers and proposals, but am also looking for new interesting areas to get involved in.

    Why is this page part of EENG in DCU?
    The PEL research group has members in both DCU and UCD. I spend quite a bit of time in DCU and started my Ph.D there and did my undergraduate degree there. So, when I moved to UCD, I left my web-page there.
