He then embarked on a career in industry holding various positions in
research and development over a period of six years, working in
medical imaging, computer vision, and industrial inspection.
During this time he attained chartered engineer status (CEng) and
corporate membership of the
Institution of Electrical Engineers (MIEE).
In 2005 he completed his PhD with the
Vision Systems Group
at Dublin City University,
where he now works as a post-doctoral researcher,
applying advanced image processing techniques to complex problems in
the field of medical image analysis and visualisation.
