I am currently working on a postgraduate research in the Performance Engineering Laboratory and Centre of Digital Video Processing in Dublin City University. My PhD programme is supported by Samsung Electronics.
The Performance Engineering Laboratory (PEL) is dealing with any system where performance issues arise and where the application of theoretical analysis can support the understanding or the design of the system. PEL is located within two Dublin based Universities, Dublin City University (DCU) and University College Dublin (UCD). Within PEL there are a number of labs:
I mainly work with Mobile System & Multimedia Networking Lab under supervision of Dr. Gabriel-Miro Muntean. As the members in the PEL, I usually have meeting periodically to share the research results and experience. And also there are visitors that come from all over the world to give us presentations on their own research. That is significant activity I usually do.
The Centre for Digital Video Processing (CDVP) at Dublin City University is a collaborating research centre of School of Computing and the School of Electronic Engineering at Dublin City University. Most member of CDVP is mainly focusing on research, development and evaluation which are targeting the efficient management of large volumes of digital media information.
As a member of CDVP, I'm interested in dealing with mobile handset information such as multimedia and user information under supervision of Prof. Alan F. Smeaton. Similarly with PEL activities, we have weekly meeting to share the research experience.
