Windows applications for Work.

NS-2 Simulator: NS is a discrete event simulator targeted at networking research. You can refer "NS by example" as a good starting point. Even if you can run NS-2 on Windows system with cygwin, you'd better to have Linux setup for debugging as described in here. Since you can look over your OTcl object with Tk based "Object Inspector" and check your logic with C++ code level debugger, you can fix the problem or get the idea how simulator works. Simplest linux installation option on Windows-based computer could be wubi which is based on Ubuntu.

CSVNT: Concurrent Version Control (CVS) is free program for software configuration management or version control. CVSNT is Windows NT server version of CVS.

TortoiseCVS: This is the MS windows GUI CVS client which is linked with Explorer. This program has various language supports including Korean.

LaTeX Editor and MiKTeX: LaTeX has batter performance and result in complex documentation than Microsoft Word. MiKTeX is TeX implementation for MS Windows. LaTeX is editor program in Windows. There is another way to use LaTeX in Windows. I used to work with that which is set by my colleague Chanyul Kim. That includes MiKTeX, Lyx and Eclipse Texlips.

Free PDF edditing tools:The following three tools could be good alternative of Adobe Acrobat family. PDFCreator provides coverting feature based on emulation of printer. This also provides coverting feature of Visio drawing to eps file if it is set up properly based on this site. PDF-XChange viewer provides not ontly reader but also marking features as free without hassle. PDF Split and Merge (pdfsam) provides split and merge function.

Tools for personal usage.

Gom Player: This is the multimedia player which I'm using at work and home. This program doesn't require setting up for codecs. Instead, they provide Codec Finder, automatic detection and download feature. There are also a few interesting features. Originally, this is Korean version freeware and also English version is available. The link is for English version.

ALTools: They provide free tools such as ALZip for archiving, ALSee for image viewer and etc. Originally those are Korea version and also English versions are also available.

Mindmap : I saw the mind map in some book for methodology of study. It describes that this helps to remember something since it has similar structure of human memory. This is also very helpful for note-taking, brainstorming, problem solving, decision making and simply writing. You can find the software tools for mind mapping easily which is fit for your computing platform such as Mind Manger, Free Mind or etc.

BrainWave Generator: The state of mind of human can be categorized as Delta(Deep sleep: 0.5Hz -4Hz), Theta (Drowsiness: 4Hz - 8Hz), Alpha (Relaxed but alert: 8Hz - 14Hz) and Beta (Highly alert and focused: 14Hz - 30Hz). This program is utilizing human's brain frequency following response that human brain is likely to change towards the applied stimulus of given frequency for specific brain states. Even if you believe this or not, you can be separate other stimulus and concentrate during reading or studying in my opinion.
